The Land of Lavender in China---Xinjiang Production and Construction Crop-4th Agricultural Division is located
in the Ili Valley which is known as the “Lush Fields Beyond the Great Wall”. Since the area shares similar
climates and geographical conditions with Provence in France,the origin of lavender,it becomes a well-known area
for lavender production in the world as Provence does. It has made itself as a famous lavender planting area in
China and the world. It has over forty years of history in lavender planting and a planting area of 22,000 mu. The
lavender output in the area account for more than 95% of the total output nationwide.
